We were approached by the clients, with an expanding family, to create principally an expanded kitchen-dining area, but also further spaces for new utility and washroom areas and an additional guest bedroom.
The final solution was to remove an existing conservatory which was blocking the flow of space from principal social areas to the garden, with a large new 'wrap-around' extension. The kitchen was pulled back into the back of this space, allowing the new dining and living areas to connect better with daylight and views/access to the garden.
